Okay so maybe I can wait to see this movie.
This is one of the most watched previews of 2009, I think it came in 7th place. I think mostly for the sheer cheesiness of the movie title. The acting is bad too, which I think is a double combination...The triple threat would be to me if the movie showed them flying through space. Now THAT would prove to me that it's the best movie ever made (NOT!). I don't know where this came from, but I'm telling you!
As for the movies previews that are most watched, Twilight New Moon had the most previews. Just thought you'd like to know this... If you wanna see where this all comes from you can check here:

So, Christmas came and went with a blink of an eye. I don't look at Christmas the way I used to. As a kid you believe in the spirit of Christmas so much you're willing to believe anything and everything. I wouldn't say I'm wiser, but at this point I can at least say that I still believe in the spirit of Christmas, but I'm not as willing to believe in Everything.
I have much to be thankful for, and wonderful parents who are always there for me. I spent Christmas with them this year, and it was fun. My niece and nephews stopped in for a visit. Now that was fun, my niece Ambrea was singing and she kept making me sing. I can only sing "Jingle Bells" so many times before I want to stop, and she "bless her little heart" wanted to keep going. Oh man, I'm glad we stopped, but that will always be one of the great memories. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas this year. Gotta love Christmas!
So, I work for the most amazing company Overstock.com. Yesterday a friend of mine received donations from Overstock because financially her family was having a hard time. The donations helped her give her kids more gifts than she had ever been able to give.
Next the other amazing thing, is the people I work with.
We decided a year ago to turn food donations into a competition between our warehouse, our customer service, and our corporate office. See below:
Even better, they put us on the news:
How amazing is that? We were also on Channel 2 News as well, and FYI the Corporate office won the competition. I'm just so proud to work for this company! It's Christmas time, and we should help each other out as much as we can.
So, I went on a Date with a guy I'd been talking to online for 2 weeks. I really like him, but do you ever get that feeling that someone just isn't as in to you as you are to them? I'm not one to delude myself into thinking that he is, I can't explain it that might take too long. I'll just say, I'm gonna play it by ear and if he asks me out again SWEET! If not, then it's not a huge deal either. I just realize that I really need to date more, and get out there more. So, that's what I'm now going to. Interesting how a few months can change your perspective on dating...haha!
So, all in all it was a great date, he was super nice and that's all you can hope for. Right?
So, tonight I have a date...I could always back out, because I'm nervous. However, I'm just gonna go through with it, you never know what will come of it. I found out also that my room mate is going to a Christmas Party at a friends singles ward, and all I could think was how jealous I was. Yeah I have a date, and I could bring him with me if I want, but wouldn't that be weird? Going to someone else's singles ward Christmas Party on a first date? haha, yeah no I don't think it would work. Oh well, we'll see what happens. I'll let you know on Monday how the date went...
So, I love my ward, to help celebrate the spirit of Christmas all of the families were given a name of another family in the ward. It is then that families job to bring the spirit of Christmas to the family they were given. How cool is that? so, we made a plate of goodies, and this weekend we are going to take that over to them and sing Christmas Carols to them. Yeah it's only 3 of us in the house, but it's fun. Luckily I can at least carry a tune..haha. I'm already feeling bad for this family. Just kidding. I'm just excited, because really I can't think of another Cheap way to do something for a family other than this? Can you?
I was a dork, I got into a fight at Cafe Rio with some lady. It was insanity, and I got a black eye after she slammed my face on the back of a chair. I have a cut under my eye, and it's starting to turn purple.
Don't worry though, becuase you should see what I did to her..
Oh well, that's actually not what happened. I dropped my badge, and basically rammed my eye into the back corner of this chair infront of me. I didn't see it because there was a black coat on the back of it...So, more than likely I'll get a black eye...right now I have a cut but I'm pretty sure there will be some black and blue coloring. Hooray for make up right?
So, I found out...It's fully official. The Bonnie Hunt Show has been cancelled!!!! NO!
I'm so sad about this, because I love her show. I record it every day, and I love coming home to watch it. Next year her show will not be renewed, and they are going to probably air some stupid show with Kate Gosslin in it. I for sure will not watch just cause I can't stand her. Oh well, daytime TV and I will now be severed...guess that's not a bad thing. It's probably a good thing, it'll be one less show to record.
Okay, So I love Looking at snow, but what I don't love is Driving in snow. I'm surprised work hasn't called a snow day yet. It's still snowing outside and I fear it will only get worse. One day every year we get a snow day, and it's always SO cool. Somehow I think this year they won't give in. Oh well....
So, last night I went to the Bombay House for Indian Food. On my way in I picked up a penny with the face up...I got sick. I'm not sure if it was the food, but basically I RAN out of there. I wasn't feeling too good. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the food though, but the sad thing is I missed most of the meal and Indian food is so amazing. Oh well, at least I have leftovers...I'll know after I eat the leftovers if that's what made me sick...
So a friend of mine sent me this...Not sure if it is someone he knows, but I thought it was pretty funny.
Well, there is good news and bad news about my Christmas decorations.
The good news is that I truly outdid myself this year. The bad news is that I had to take them down after only two days. I had more people come screaming up to my house than ever. Great stories. But two things made me take it down. First, the cops advised me that it would cause traffic accidents as they almost wrecked when they drove by. Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the ladder and almost killed herself putting it against my house and didn't realize it was fake until she climbed to the top (she was not happy). She was one of many people who attempted to do that. My yard couldn't take it either. I have more than a few tire tracks where people literally drove up my yard.
I think I made him too real this time. But it was fun while it lasted. ;)
Kerry
So, I know I'm a little late in decorating this year, but when you have two other room mates it can make it difficult to figure out and agree upon what colors that we can all live with. So, we finally agreed up on red and gold. I couldn't stand having it be just Red so I convinced them to add gold. HOORAY. These are the colors...
Now if only I can get them to let us only use white lights, and a star on top of the tree we'll be set.
What are you doing for a Christmas Tree this year?
I'm a firm believer in celebrating a friends Birthday. So, when I saw my friend Leslie's desk this morning, I was a bit disappointed on how Sparse the desk was decorated. Therefore, when she left to to a meeting I took it upon myself to do the following to her desk.
This is what real friends do...
I also gave her this man
But she gave him back to me...oh well. If you want a fro haired guy let me know...I'm sure I can make the arrangements to send him your way.
So, I got lucky and got two days off of work this week. Wait it wasn't a good thing, I was out sick. So, that's why I haven't written anything, my computer at home doesn't allow me to really add or do anything so I have to take a break at work and fill you in on the great happenings in my life.
So, I wanted to provide you with some pictures of a house I decorated last week. I'm only putting up 3 pictures, even though I have more. The reason is there is a book that will be published highlighting some of these areas I helped decorate.
So without further ado, here are the 3 pictures, and the cause of why I'm so sick...
Do you think my being sick was worth it?
So, I was out of it on Thanksgiving. I had stayed up all night decorating this house for Christmas, and had stayed up all night the night before that. So, I never really got to enjoy Thanksgiving. I went to my sisters house, and ate. From there I slept on her sons bed until 2:30. From there I went to pick up my room mate so we could go to her parents house. Where she slept and I played with her nephews. After that we came home, watched some TV and went to bed. I've decided I'll probably never do that again, I didn't REALLY get to enjoy Thanksgiving like I should have.
Saturday night was my Christmas Choir concert, I belong to the Choral Arts Society of Utah. Our director is Sterling Poulson, a really funny guy. He's the Weatherman for Channel 2 news. It was really cool to be a part of it. After our 2nd song though, he wanted us to stay standing but half of us sat down. When we realized he wanted us to stay standing we all stood back up. (Boy did we look silly). Guess we need to practice the standing up and sitting down more often. haha! Other than that, the concert was great. I think the only people in the audience were friends and family of people in the choir and orchestra. Oh well, at least we get bigger turn outs when the concerts are free. We'll have one on April 16th, it's our spring concert. For now though, we get a break, and do not start back up with Choir until January. Hooray! I get some rest this month, I'm excited.
So, I know this is off topic, but I have a friend in Total denial. (No this isn't me). She's struggling, and can't even see it. She tells me she's happy, but for one to look into her eyes you can tell she is not. I don't know what to say to her, I feel horrible for her. She talks about the bad stuff going on in her life, and she's really down on herself. What should I say to her to help her get happy?
Thankful for my Name (LOVE my name), but frustrated other people share it.
So, at work there are 2 or 3 other Brooke's, and we each every now and then receive e-mails designated for the other. So, today I get this phone call, and it surprised me because I couldn't figure out at first why he was contacting me because I had nothing to do with the product he was contacting me about. Needless to say the call belonged to another Brooke in the company. This reminds me of when I was in Kindergarten and I had my first taste of being mixed up with another Brooke.
This girl Brooke W. and I were in the same Kindergarten class our teacher Mrs. Woods was an older lady (I remember her being taller than me of course, but now she'd be WAY shorter than me). Anyways, to get to our bus, she wrote our names on a slip of paper and pinned the papers to us. Then from there we were put on a bus so we could get home (I of course had early kindergarten, which was awesome!). Well, from what I remember I didn't recognize anything that we were driving past, and it was one of the last stops, and I Knew I wasn't by my house. This lady get's on the bus at the very last stop and asks me if my name is Brooke. I of course said yes, but then she asked me if I was Brooke W. I of course said No. Then she asked me the same question again. Why on earth she did I have NO clue, but either way I started crying at that point cause I had no idea who this lady was. The Bus driver could sense my distress, and called into the school. It turns out my teacher mixed my name tag up with Brooke W.'s name tag. After that, every day when Kindergarten ended one of my parents was always there to pick me up. I even remember always going out to eat with them after, I was such a lucky little kid. My parents are the best!
So, as you can see, this has been a problem since I was young, and continues on to this day. Hopefully someday it will end, but you never know.
So, kinda funny thing happened. My friend got married yesterday, and we were so worried that we weren't going to have enough Rice Krispies at the wedding. I made 5 batches on cookie sheets. Well, guess what? They didn't need any of Mine...so I have ended up with 5 cookie sheets of Rice Krispies. Luckily I work with people who enjoy free food, and that we had a potluck in the office today. HOORAY! I've already unloaded 3 Cookie sheets. As for the other 2, anyone want some Rice Krispies for Christmas? Just kidding, I wouldn't give out old food, that's just awful. haha!
So, my friend Lara is getting married tonight. I took the day off at work, and decorated her honeymoon suite today. Not sure if I should have though, but I'm known for decorating the rooms for people when they get married (or have an anniversary). Anyways, this person really isn't THAT much of a friend. She's the fine weather friend that is only there when things are going well. However, I felt that I should at least do it and then call it good. Would you have done it?
The movie was amazing, it was so much like the book. I recommend that everyone see this movie. At least people that have read the book.
With Black Friday fast approaching, people be careful:
Nothing is ever worth this, at least not more important than someone else's life.
Okay, so I'm not really your typical Twilight fan, but I can't help it. I read all of the books and really want to see the movie. I have tickets tonight to see the 8:40 showing, which is the first showing. I'm SO excited, I can barely contain myself...I was all for Edward, but Jacob...I don't know. The movies are swaying my original decision. We'll have to see how I feel after tonight. Who knows...
Anyways, I'll let you know what I thought of the movie tomorrow. I won't give a play by play. I'll just say whether I liked it or not.
So, I like action movies, especially ones that you feel like you're a part of the movie. If you like action movies, than you'll like this movie, their a decent plot. However, the action is what takes up the screen most of the time. The best part about going to see 2012 last night was the fact that I got to sit in a survey seat. In the survey seat, the seat shakes with the movie. This is to add a more realistic effect, and make you feel like you are in the movie with the actors. All I can say is I was on the edge of my seat. I needed a way to block my life out and not think about it, and this was Definitely the way to go. When something would fall, and the ground would shake in the movie the seat would shake. It was SO cool! I would seriously pay extra for that added portion, and I really think it should be included in All theaters.
Anyways, just my two cents. If you like action movies you'll like this movie, but remember you have to stretch your imagination or you won't like the movie at all.
Just a thought.
Okay, so maybe I'm the only one who cares, but did any of you see Charla Nash on Oprah the other day? I don't typically watch Oprah, but I was flipping through the channels, and happened upon this the other night (Oprah airs late at night too). The woman can't even see her face, and Oprah revealed her face on television. I was shocked, because the woman really has no face, there is no features of her previous face. This woman should Never have shown her face on TV, and Oprah should have Never done this to this poor woman. The woman probably agreed to go on TV because they were going to pay her a lot of money to show up on the show. That money would go to treatment for her, but still...at what cost? I really don't think she should have shown this poor woman's face, and now it's etched in my memory forever. I think I'll spare you all, and avoid posting a picture. Keep in mind that if you go searching for it that's at your own discretion, but be advised I warned you it's shocking. I'll just say this much, if I were to ever get paid to go on a TV show to reveal something that shocking I'll avoid Oprah that's for dang sure.
So, about the same time last year a bunch of crazy things happened to me all at the same time. I at the time attributed it to my going through the temple, and unseen forces wanted me to Not go. At least that's what I thought at the time, but now I'm seeing similar craziness from a year ago. My car is pretty much dead, my Dryer died, I just had to get a root canal (it still hurts), and dental work is expensive (even with insurance). So, I paid my tithing, and am praying things will work out. I'm not complaining mind you, just stating fact. I could look at these things and cry and say woe is me, but I'm not and won't.
To be honest, I'm seeing things in a different light. I'm learning to trust Heavenly Father more than I have ever in my life. I feel okay, and I'm not scared. I just know things will work out for the better, and I'm thankful for all that my Heavenly Father has done for me.
Anyways, so that's what's been going on this week. I'm tired....I have too much craziness in my life I think...
So, I talked to DeEtte last night, and Chad is in a Lot of pain. He was awake the whole night, and they went to the doctor yesterday. They gave him some morphine so that he would at least be able to sleep for a few hours. I thought I'd spare everyone and avoid sending you pictures of the burns, but let me just say they are bad. I feel horrible for him, the pain has to be intense I just could not imagine. Anyways, they said his face should heal within 10 days, but his hand. That's gonna take quite some time to heal. Keep him in your prayers....
On another side note...I'm selling my Car YAY!!!!!! I'm selling it cheap, $1000. Yep, that's right! This is the AD I posted on craigslist and KSL.com
PONTIAC GRANDAM
I must part with the Silver Bullet, yes that's right. The Silver Bullet, this car is amazing he's been my best friend. He can be your best friend too! Who would not WANT a Silver Bullet of their very own. When I think of this car, I think of speed, and agility. Okay so the car is actually really fast he just needs a few repairs to get him back up to the shape he was in when I got him.
Silver Bullet offers the following spectacular features, they are:
- Cruise Control
- CD Player
- Power Steering
- Traction Control
- Rear Defrost
- Power Windows
- Automatic
And these are just to name a few. I'll have pictures posted on 11/11/2009 so you can see the amazing features for yourself.
If you are interested in this car please get in touch with me, and I'll be more than happy to discuss the car further.
Thank you!!
So, if you're interested in owning a Silver Bullet, let me know...haha!
So, yesterday I get this picture, and it's showing someones face has been burned, and their hand is all black. I looked at it a few times, and was surprised because it finally dawned on me who was in the picture. It was my brother in law Chad. I immediately got the chills and looked at my phone. I turn it to silent when I'm at work cause I don't want interruptions, and I had a few phone calls from my Dad. I immediately knew something was up. I called him back right away, and I guess while Chad was working (he's and electrician)something exploded and blew up in his face. Luckily he was wearing goggles, a helmet, and long sleeves. Had he not his injuries would have been WAY more severe. I was just freaked out, but my poor sister was in shock I think. So, while she was at the hospital I went and took care of her dogs. She has the cutest dogs, two teacup Chihuahuas, a German Shepherd, and another dog that's a mix breed. SO fun, the little ones bark at the bigger dogs, and it cracks me up. Anyways, I'm just really glad he's okay and that it wasn't something worse. I also hope he gets better soon, if you can please keep him in your prayers?
Thanks!
I did a 5k Walk on Thursday last week, and played volleyball all on the same day. The next day I walked 3 miles, and on Saturday I couldn't move. I'm telling you it's a nightmare! The worst part is that I walked backwards on Friday and it literally hurt to walk on Saturday. Remind me to do things in Moderation, I've always been a believer that I can pretty much do anything, but sometimes I really shouldn't.
I sincerely felt like this lady
Okay so that's an exaggeration, but still.. I'm all about working out and playing and having fun. However, I tell ya I sure feel old doing it. I'm thinking it's from the Volleyball I've been playing for the last 10 years or so. I play every week, well almost every week. However, I've been doing that for the last 10 years, crazy huh? Well, let's hope my joints can keep it together for another 10 or so years of Volleyball.
So yesterday was my Dad's 65th birthday. This was my Dad with his siblings when he was 5 (yes only 60 years ago), the photo was taken in their living room in the house they lived in downtown.
Back Row L-R My Dad, and my Uncle Garn
Front Row L-R Uncle Kent, Aunt Jeannie, and Uncle Dennis
They were all so little and so cute...It's so awesome! I look at the picture of my Dad and he still has some of the same features. Haha!
I have a good Father, he's always there for me and I appreciate him Very much. I can't even tell you how many times he's been there for me when I've had a hard time. He's a good shoulder to cry on when you need it too!
Hope you had a great Birthday DAD!
Love your youngest Brooke!
I was walking past the mental hospital the other day,
And all the patients were shouting, '13.....13....13.'
The fence was too high to see over, but I saw a
Little gap in the planks, so I looked through to see
What was going on......
Just then, some idiot poked me in the eye with a stick!
Then they all started shouting '14....14.....14'...
LOVE THIS!!! I'd be the one looking through the whole in the fence. I'm pretty sure I'd be number 15.
So, I'm not a big fan of Daylight Savings, even if I get to Fall back an hour. This Sunday was the worst, because I use my cell phone as my alarm. Well, when my phone didn't switch over I was SO annoyed I had church on Sunday and didn't want to miss. Anyways, so with my alarm still set I woke up too early and started to get ready. When I realized my phone had not automatically switched I just shut the alarm off and went back to bed...
So, that was my Sunday, pretty lame huh? Oh and Halloween I just hung around and waited for Trick or Treaters. I did get to watch Darby O'gill and the Little People. It came on TV, and it's so cute. It stars Sean Connery before he was ever James Bond.
You gotta love Disney.

Anyone remember this show?
I sure do, it was my favorite Halloween movie when I was a kid. Halloween is getting closer and I have 3 costume ideas and I have to have it planned out no later than Thursday night. Wish me luck!
I wish they had called a snow day today! Man there is so much snow outside, just look below at a picture from my phone. This is what it looks like outside my window at work. Total White out!
Anyways, yesterday I was going to get a drink with a friend of mine and we looked at this guys desk that had a balloon on it with all of the disney princesses on it. Well, she says to me "Who is the chick in Mulan?" I was like "Mulan", then she says to me "What is her name?" I looked at her and started laughing, I could barely get out that her name was "Mulan". I'm thinking, how do you not know who Mulan is? I guess it just seems like second nature like Everyone should ALL know who the Disney princesses are, and I advised my friend that she was definitely sheltered if she didn't know that the Movie Mulan is the name of the character.
Also, last night I went to the Salt Lake City Cemetary with a friend for an Archaeology class. It was so dark out, but for some reason I was not scared. She had to find headstones for people who had passed away in the 1800's. It was crazy, we found a family of 9 children who passed away the same day. Then, we found a guy whose first wife died on his birthday. It was so sad to see all of these, but it was really cool to see. Then we found a few of the prophets and to be honest I have been to the SLC cemetary many times, but never thought to look for them before. It was REALLY cool. That cemetary is Huge!
Anyways, it was a good night. The most random things happen to me, which is crazy, but they do. As the random things keep coming up I'll be happy to keep sharing.
So, on Friday night, Overstock.com had a concert sponsored by our CEO Patrick Byrne. It was fun, because there was dancing involved and I got to hangout with friends. I'm not really a big fan of the Wallflowers, but it was really cool to hear them nonetheless.
Then on Saturday morning I got to hang out with my favorite Aunt. My Aunt Peggy, she's seriously so fun, and that was officially the first time I got to hang out with Just her. I've never done that before, usually I would see her if other family was around. I had a blast Aunt Peggy thanks for hanging out with me!
Also, on Sunday I hung out with this way hilarious lady name Keri Macey, she's so crazy! I love it! She has so much energy and has so many ideas. Plus she really knows how to make you feel better about yourself. She's just good at complementing people and saying kind things. It just makes it so you want to hang out with her all of the time because she's just SO positive. There is nothing wrong with positive.
Anyways, so that was my crazy fun weekend. Hope everyone else's weekend went well...
After a long hiatus from Volleyball, I went to my old Single's Ward and played Volleyball. Okay, it was awesome, because no matter how rusty I thought I was going to be, I wasn't and in fact played better than I thought I would. Now I have Volleyball on the brain and can't shut it out. All I want to do is set a volleyball all day, is that weird? I'm sure it is, but that just shows true passion for the sport right? Anyways, I had a lot of fun, and a big group of us went to breakfast afterwards. It was so nice to just hang out with a group of friends, quote movies, and laugh. Usually it's fun like that when I go, but not always. So, it was really nice to have a big group. The best movie quote of the night was a quote from the movie "The Ringer". Okay seriously? I LOVE that movie, it's hilarious!
Okay so that recording was lame, but still the movie is amazing!
Anyways, that's it from me, have a great day!
So, I was thinking of things that I am tired of. However, rather than be negative I instead am opting to find the good things in life, and list out the blessings I have. So, here we go...
- I have an awesome Job
- I have wonderful parents
- I have amazing friends
- I have SO much Joy in my life
- I'm a member of a really great Choir
- I'm good with people
- I have a good phone voice
- I'm 21 and still holding, JK!
- I have a strong relationship with God
- I love my religion, it's who I am
- I have an Awesome Sister
You see, if you took inventory in your life the same way you take inventory at a job. You would find an endless supply of blessings in your life, and you would dwell less on the negative things that happen. Like the list above, I challenge all of my family and friends to do the same. Bad things happen, but they don't have to run your life. My Mom has always said, "This too shall Pass". She's so right, and I love her for the great advice she always gives me, and because of her I'm a better person. Love you Mom!
So, I've had a lot of Disney Songs in my head lately, and these are just a few:
Since I couldn't put them all on here, I'll spare you the agony. Still though, don't you think Disney is amazing? Granted they have some bad ideas, but overall they've helped shape nearly every child's dreams. So, today I celebrate all things Disney and am listening to Disney all day. Who knows how long it will last, but hopefully for a while it take me back to my childhood and I can remember those dreams I had as a child.
I'm enjoying my room mates, we're having a TON of fun. Today I went home for lunch, and I caught my room mate in the bathroom singing to herself. HAHA, U2 never sound so girly.
Anyways, we've had fun lately, Jenny had a date last night and he stayed late to watch a movie with us. I don't think he left until 1am, which is crazy but he was a lot of fun to hang out with. If anything I know she'll at least be friends with the guy.
I actually haven't been dating, which isn't a bad thing. Right now I've realized a few things, and they are:
- I need to get my life in order
- I need to find trust
- I need to accomplish goals that will propel me to where I want to be.
So, now once I accomplish these things, life will be a MILLION times easier and I'll feel better about dating when my life is in order.
Things at work are really good, Overstock.com is celebrating their 10 year anniversary which is so cool, because I've been with the company for at least 6 years of it. I've seen it go through many changes, and ups and downs. All I can say about it is it's a great company to work for. The CEO really cares about his employees, and it's always a lot of fun to work their. The people I get to work with are awesome, and one of them happens to be one of my best friends. Anyways, I love my job and I'm happy what more could I ask for?
So today is Friday! HOOOORAY! It's my choir concert tonight. In case you didn't know I joined a choir about 2 months ago, and absolutely love it! The choir director is the one and only Sterling Poulson from Channel 2 news. He's a really nice guy, and really funny too. If you ever watch the weather you know what I mean. I'm really excited because we had our dress rehearsal last night and it was amazing! We have this band playing with us, and they are spectactular. They're all highschool age kids, and they play so well. I'm so stoked, I really think this is going to be a huge hit. I'm really glad I joined this choir, it's definitely worth it and it helps me conquer this little fear I have of singing infront of people. Hopefully, one day I'll just get over it completely. Who knows, maybe someday.
Saturday night I helped my friend Leslie paint her living room. I had so much fun, and had some Dr. Pepper. I know it's bad for me, and I try to limit the soda as much as possible. Anyways, so we finish up and I drive home well on my way home I'm driving on State Street, and this stupid woman walks out infront of my car. The whole time I'm watching her I immediately slam on my brakes and not once does she look in my direction. The whole time I'm watching her face, and she just keeps walking and doesn't even turn to look in my direction. I came within inches of hitting this woman, and she was completely oblivious to me. It didn't scare me right away, because I felt that I was not alone when I was driving. I felt like I had some help. I'm so glad I had guardian angels watching over me, and fortunately that woman. Although she didn't notice it there was someone there watching over both of us. By the time I got home I just couldn't sleep, it had me pretty shook up. I've been thanking Heavenly Father ever since.
So, that's been my weekend, how about you?
So, now that I have an alarm system for the house that's been broken into I now have to get a lock for my gas tank. That's right everyone, someone Actually siphoned gas from my car.
I so wish I had been there to catch these thieves but they did it in the middle of the night. It's so frustrating, I can't even tell you it's almost a violation of sorts. So, now my poor car....oh well at least I have a new gas cap for it that locks.
Things have been okay lately, I can't complain. I love my new room mate Jenny, she's seriously like my sister. Her parents act like I'm a member of their family. It's never a big deal if I just show up for dinner at their house, although I still ask to make sure it's okay. Still though, it's like they never question it if I'm there. Plus her parents in many ways remind me of My parents, they have Some of the same qualities. Love them all!
Did I ever tell you how amazing my parents are? Just wanted you to know that...I have a really awesome sister who really makes efforts to stay a part of my life. She genuinely wants to know how I'm doing, especially if she hasn't heard from me in a while. That's a really awesome trait she has, and I love her very much!
Anyways, have to go. I'm at my parents house so I still have to head home.
YAY it's Wednesday! Wait, that's not actually a good thing. That means I have two more days left of craziness. I'm going to St. George this weekend. Hopefully, I'll get to see my brother on Saturday night. I haven't seen them in a while, and it'll be nice to see them before Halloween.
I'm still getting used to the short haircut. It's definitely different, and new. I miss having tons of things to do with it. I tried round brushing it. SO many people suggested that idea to me, which was awesome. However, I'm not very good at it. So, I've been experimenting and doing fun things with it. I'm getting more and more used it though.
Also, this week my friend Jenny moved in, she didn't have anywhere to live. She didn't want to live with people she didn't know, and to help her with rent (as well as myself) she moved in and we are now sharing a room. Let's hope my other Room mate Diana gets married next year, because I have a feeling Jenny and I will have our struggles sharing a room. I've known her since I was 15, but we didn't become friends until I was 19. She's a very supportive friend, and cares a lot for people. I'm really glad she moved in.
Anyways, that's it for me...
Okay, so this last week, I cut my hair...not because I wanted to. The Salon I went to fried my hair and dyed the bottom portion blue. So, I had to get my hair cut, isn't that tragic?
Anyways, here is a pic of it.
Everyone has said it looks really good on me, but people lie to you to make you feel better. I'm not sure what I think of it yet, it's gonna take some getting used to I think.
So, do you ever have those friends that don't offer you support? I do, and I'm starting to get tired of it. Rather than give encouragement these friends find your flaws, and tell you what you need to change about yourself. It always cracks me up, because part of me once to say well..."I am who I am so lay off". However, I don't have the guts. The only way I get the guts is through e-mail, and that always ends badly. It's sad, but I need to find a way to talk to these friends. It's hard because I'm a little afraid of their personalities, some of them have been known to fly off the handle and say horrible things. I don't want to deal with that, so how do you approach someone and tell them. "Hey, you need to lay off, and at least share some sympathy for me once in a while"? It's interesting because I have the flu right now, and one of the friends said "it's all about what you eat, and you need to change the way you eat". Well, I advised her that I HAD been changing what I ate, I eat more fruit and Veggies and less meat. I cut out Soda big time, and I drink tons of water. However, it's not enough for her she thinks there is still something there I'm not doing right. Well, that's on her not me. I know what I'm trying to do, and that's enough for me. Just wish I knew how to tell her where to stick it without hurting her feelings. Anyone have a suggestion?
Okay, so I decided I would come up with a new idea to freshen up this blog. I decided I'm going to write a review every week on a book that I've read. Since I usually read books within a couple of days this shouldn't be a problem. I just finished reading the Fabelhaven series, and LOVED IT! There is a last book to the series that doesn't come out until March or April of Next year. Which is fine, because I'm okay with waiting. The books are meant for kids, but I'm a kid at heart and Love them. If you haven't heard about these books well, then you should at least check them out.
I was so impressed by the books, but first let me say if you are a slow reader plan on it taking about a month to get through the first four books. It's fascinating how the author 'Brandon Mull' writes his characters, and what happens to them. He's not overly descriptive, and it's enough detail that you get what he's talking about. The story is about a Brother & Sister named Seth and Kendra, and it's about the adventures they experience at the farm where their grandparents live. When I say FARM that's an understatement it's much more than that...If you read the books you'll know what I mean.
It's Monday! HOORAY! Oh Wait, that's the beginning of the week. CRAP! oh well, that's okay it's almost over so I'm happy.
We moved offices at work today, so I sit in a quieter room. it's different, but nice because I don't have to worry about people looking over my shoulder.
Also, the latest is, I'm cleaning my room! I know shocker, but it's more than that. I'm downsizing so my friend Jenny can move in. So, I took time off at work (I have TONS of PTO). So, I have like 5 days of this coming weekend, and it's really only going to take me 2 or 3 days to do everything I plan to do. I'm going to ask my landlord to let me paint the room. Keep your fingers crossed, because I'm not sure how they will react to that. I want to do colors that match the following bedroom set.
I love this Comforter Set, it's called the Plaza 7-piece Bedding Ensemble. It's available on Overstock. I' seriously in LOVE with this...It's over $100 cause it's 7 pieces, but man I so want it. I get 5% off of my order, but then I pay tax so, it's almost like I'm getting the tax waived.
Anyways, So, that's about it for me, just want to go home and take a nap. This headache is killing me.

Yep that’s right, a big giant hug!
So, just remember that it’s your day and you should do whatever you darn well please.
Even if that means you do what she does…hey she didn’t get to be hundred by being a non smoker.
You like? Well, if not I think it's pretty darn funny.
So, it's Monday. Hooray! I mean BOO!!! Who actually enjoys Mondays? If you say you're one of them. Well, I might make fun of you, cause that's just pure lunacy.
So, I have this dilemma at work, I go outside sometimes with my boss and my other co-worker cause they smoke and I just stand out there (down wind) and talk to them. Well, it's been perceived that I'm a smoker now (I'm Not). My job is important to me, so I would hate for people to think that I'm a smoker, but I enjoy the conversations I get to have with my boss. We don't get to talk like that when we're at our desks, so it's nice. However, I'm not sure if I should think it's important or not what others at work think of me. So, now...I'm not sure what to do. Should I stop going outside so others at work don't think I'm a smoker? Or should I continue to go outside (have some good conversations) with my boss and say to heck with everyone else? I'm not sure, let me know what you think?
So, today is Friday, and it's the 40th Anniversary of Woodstock. A holiday to my company as you can see in the above picture. I'm amazed that they considered it a dress up day, and worth it for me to come into work today. Anyways, things are good I'm supposed to go camping tonight with my ward, but it's been raining so we may have to actually cancel. Dang it! Oh well...
SO, I was cheesy one day and decided to watch the Hannah Montana: Movie. I wasn't expecting much from it, but I thought this scene was really sweet, and the song was even more sweet.
I may not have always had an extremely close relationship with my Dad, but this song kind of explains how much I love my Daddy!
Anyways, hope you enjoy.
Okay, so I have this new obsession. It's called Pesto Sauce. You might have heard of it. I'm not sure why I have it, but I do. I've been putting it on almost everything I eat (except for yogurt and cereal, that would be just nasty). I had this grilled cheese sandwich at this restaraunt called Zupa's, and I've never been the same. You put Munster Cheese, American Cheese, a Tomato, and Pesto Sauce. Then you grill the sandwich. Once it's cooked, it's the most amazing sandwich I've ever tasted. The only trouble is it's like 600 + calories. Oh well, so worth it. Now, because of that sandwich I put the Pesto sauce on the side of everything, and it just all tastes SO good. Oh well, this phase shall pass just like every other random phase in my life. Now if I could actually just do something normal I'll be alright.
Okay so can I say I'm the worst blogger in the world? I need to get back in the game I think! So, here's something funny. I hung out with my room mate and her boyfriend this weekend, and had a random moment where I took their picture with my Camera Phone, and I did a little photo shopping and got the following out of it:

So, that's what my weekend was like, and again sorry for not posting in while. I've been busy, when you get a new position at work. Life takes on a whole new meaning you know?
So, I couldn't find my Battery Charger for my Camera. So, I can't provide you with pictures. One thing I can say, they refused to let us take pictures at the show. So, let me tell you what happened while it's still on my mind.
We got there right before noon on Thursday, and stood in line to get into the studio. I went with my Room mate, and we ended up meeting these ladies in line. They were so cute, we talked about the show and it turns out one of the ladies shares a birthday with me. So, we talked quite a bit, and eventually got through the line and into the studio. The staff was absolutely amazing, we got a Hot Dog and a Rootbeer when we sat down in the studio which was a lot of fun. Seeing the set it was a lot smaller then I originall assumed it would be I guess everything looks bigger on camera.
The guy that gets the crowd excited and laughing started asking people where they were from. A lot of people raised there hands, and he eventually got to me and I was SO excited that I shouted it...so lame. Anyways, he got a kick out of me I guess, especially when I told him it was my Birthday. So, he gave me a Bonnie Hunt T-shirt. They don't just hand those shirts to everyone in the audience so I felt really lucky. Anyways, I asked him if he could get Don to do the Muppet Dance, it was the same dance he did when they had Elmo and Zoe on from Sesame street, and he did it! So exciting. Anyways, so during one of Bonnie's skits about Chocolate, my room mate Diana shouted out "It better be Godiva" and Bonnie called out "What Honey?" and the camera focused on us so we'll be on television.
Well, the first guest she had was Chloris Leachman, the woman is crazy. She put on a blonde wig, and pole danced. She also played the piano, and the purpose was to promote her new autobiography. Well, the part you may not see on the show, she was heading up the stairs to slide down the railing. They were worried about her Safety, so one of the crew members named Alec went up and told her he'd give her a piggy back ride. Well, that's exactly what happened, and he galloped with her on his back backstage. It was crazy...
After all the other guests were on and she interviewed them, and the show ended. Well she came into the audience and started to greet people. Well, when she finally got to my side I almost hyperventalated (spelled that wrong). I was freaking out because this is someone I watch on TV almost every single day. Well, anyways she gets over to us and shakes Diana's hand, and Diana tells her that she read one of my letters on her show, then we told Bonnie which letter it was and she said to me "nice to meet you"...and I shook her hand, and then said to her "You know, my parents are huge fans of you, and I am too" then I started crying. I'm such a dork! I was crying, and she hugged me and said "Oh honey, it's okay! I know television has such an influence on people." then she said "Thank you for giving me matarial for the show you're so sweet!" Then she walked away, I hugged her a second time and sat down. She also wished me a Happy Birthday. It was SO amazing...After she went back to the set, Don came over and gave me a hug, and I asked him if I could meet Holly (Bonnie's best friend). I was SO excited, I just kept telling her how much I loved the show and her and everyone on it, and she was so nice. We joked about the blue Chalk she put on as a joke. It was so awesome, I felt so lucky to get to meet them all.
Well, anyways, we stayed by the studios, and waited for the 6 o'clock taping. That one wasn't as eventful because I got sick right after Kathy Griffin was on, I had to leave during one of the commercials so they had to have someone sit in for me while I was away. I found out so much info about Bonnie from her staff. The one girl told me that Bonnie isn't currently planning on doing any new scripts or movies, but that she's been doing some writing for Pixar and such. So, I thought that was cool. Also, that Bonnie's niece drives her around while Bonnie sits in the back seat. I guess she doesn't want to be recognized, and who can blame her. With all of us standing around she probably didn't want people rushing to her asking for autographs.
Well, that was all on Thursday and it was amazing, Friday we went to the beach and hung out. I got a lot of great pictures, that I'll load some of them as soon as I find the charger. I think it's just in the camera case, but I accidentally left that at a friends house. So, as soon as I load them on to my computer I'll put them on here.
All in all this was one of the best Birthdays, but I came to one conclusion after all that happened. You don't make things happen by sitting there doing nothing, you have to get out into the world and experience things for yourself. Life can pass you by in an instant so it's up to us to make the most of it. We make our own dreams come true, no one does it for you.
So that was my Birthday!
Love you all!
Brooke
So, if you know me you know that I watch the Bonnie Hunt show almost Every day. I love how funny she is. So, this week for my B-day I'm flying out with my room mate to california to see the show. I'm so excited! I'll get the see the 2pm taping and the 6pm taping. Who knows who will be on, they wouldn't tell me on the phone when I they told me I could get tickets. So, we'll have to see. Anyways, all I know is..I'm stoked! Happy 28th Birthday to me!
So, I'm obsessed with watching the Bonnie Hunt show, I never miss a show unless it doesn't get recorded for some reason, or KJzz for whatever reason doesn't air an episode. She's so awesome, she read one of my letters on the air...I was so shocked, and it's funny because I still have the recording. I show everyone that comes over to my house it is my only claim to fame.
I've been enjoying my new job but I'm so busy all of the time I have hardly any time for life...especially putting anything in my blog.
I was sad to find out that Natasha Richardson passed away. She was an amazing actress, and I admired her a great deal. I pray for her family that they will find comfort, it's just so sad she was so young. Guess I shouldn't go skiing. I've never been and my friends told me I should, well after her accident I don't think I will be.
Anyways, that's it from me.

Anyone that thinks kids aren't funny...never read this...
MELANIE (age 5) asked her Granny how old she was. Granny replied she was so old she didn't remember any more. Melanie said, 'If you don't remember you must look in the back of your panties. Mine say five to six.'
STEVEN (age 3) hugged and kissed his Mom good night. 'I love you so much that when you die I'm going to bury you outside my bedroom window.'
BRITTANY (age 4) had an earache and wanted a pain killer. She tried in vain to take the lid off the bottle. Seeing her frustration, her Mom explained it was a child-proof cap and she'd have to open it for her. Eyes wide with wonder, the little girl asked: 'How does it know it's me?'
SUSAN (age 4) was drinking juice when she got the hiccups. 'Please don't give me this juice again,' she said. 'It makes my teeth cough.'
DJ (age 4) stepped onto the bathroom scale and asked: 'How much do I cost?'
MARC (age 4) was engrossed in a young couple that were hugging and kissing in a restaurant. Without taking his eyes off them, he asked his dad: 'Why is he whispering in her mouth?'
CLINTON (age 5) was in his bedroom looking worried. When his Mom asked what was troubling him, he replied, 'I don't know what'll happen with this bed when I get married. How will my wife fit in it?'
JAMES (age 4) was listening to a Bible story. His dad read: 'The man named Lot was warned to take his wife and flee out of the city but his wife looked back and was turned to salt.' Concerned, James asked: ''What happened to the flea?'
TAMMY (age 4) was with her mother when they met an elderly, rather wrinkled woman her Mom knew. Tammy looked at her for a while and then asked, 'Why doesn't your skin fit your face?'
The Sermon I think this Mom will never forget: this particular Sunday sermon ...
'Dear Lord,' the Minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face, 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'
I'm such a slacker, I totally forget to post blogs on here...I figure no one reads them any more..oh well. It gives me an outlet when I need one and that's great.
Mondays this month my single's ward gets to do Family Home Evening for the two rest homes in our stake. Can I tell you that's a crazy experience! I got to do the one on Monday this week. I love the people dearly the first home there was a lady and she had no teeth, and kept crying out "HELP ME!" She was quiet when I started singing, but then when I stopped she'd yell again. "HELP ME!" She scared me to death! The second home was fun too, the lady that said the opening prayer was backwards...she kept saying, "God Bless Me" haha it was funny. Then there was this cute guy who smiles a lot, and when it came time to sing, he'd sing so loud the one lady next to him covered her ears. It was all I could do to keep from laughing. I know that there are older people in the world, someday my parents might be these people in this home. My hope is that if that happens someone will be nice enough to visit with my parents the way I tried to visit with these amazing people.
Valentine's Day -
It's funny, I've never been a huge fan of Valentine's Day. I just can't get into it...there's something not right about it...maybe it's the commercialization of it. I'm not a fan of that at all.
Work -
I was promoted at work last week, and start my new position on the 3rd of March. I'm really excited. New opportunities will come my way, and I can't wait. It's definitely going to be awesome.
Home -
I purchased an alarm system so if someone breaks into my home they alarm will sound and alert my neighbors. They are loud alarms, I had one go off on me just to hear it. It was louder than the smoke alarm.
Temple -
I finally decided with the help of my Father in Heaven that it was time to take out my endowments. I know the church encourages us to wait until the time is right, but I felt a sense of urgency and knew that I needed to go through. So, on February 7th I took out my endowments. All I can really say is, that it was beautiful and amazing. Words cannot fully describe the experience and I am humbled that the Lord felt I was ready to do this.
Well, that's it for me right now...
Take care!

ONLY A MOTHER WOULD KNOW.....
Cup of Tea .
One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me.
I was maybe 2 1/2 years old. Someone had given me a little 'tea set' as
a gift and it was one of my favorite toys.
Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I
brought Daddy a little cup of 'tea', which was just water. After several
cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home.
My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of
tea, because it was 'just the cutest thing!' My Mom waited, and sure
enough, here I come down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy and she
watches him drink it up.
Then she says, (as only a mother would know.. :)
'Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water is the toilet?
This is the ring I was wearing that flew off my finger and smacked this lady in the back of the Head.
This is my face after it knocked her out and her husband punched me
Okay, I'm really joking, I did hit a lady in the back of the head with a ring, but I didn't get punched...haha..I felt bad and laughed at her though..Guess I'm a jerk right?!
Anyways, this week has been a good week. I'm going back to school, and I'm really excited about it. It's about time I find something..you know? I started yesterday, and I go back tonight for more testing. Hooray!
I find it funny that I am very comfortable sharing information about myself, and don't mind when other people know things about me. I talk to people in grocery store lines...I talk to people everywhere...but sometimes and depending on the person I'm with...people don't like it when I do. I see absolutely nothing wrong with it, I'm approachable if I do it. I would much rather be approachable than be ignored because I don't like talking to other people. I guess that's me though, and if people don't understand it well that's there loss for sure.
Anyways, that's it from me this week. Take Care!
