Thanksgiving and Choir

Posted by brookeaprilrain

So, I was out of it on Thanksgiving. I had stayed up all night decorating this house for Christmas, and had stayed up all night the night before that. So, I never really got to enjoy Thanksgiving. I went to my sisters house, and ate. From there I slept on her sons bed until 2:30. From there I went to pick up my room mate so we could go to her parents house. Where she slept and I played with her nephews. After that we came home, watched some TV and went to bed. I've decided I'll probably never do that again, I didn't REALLY get to enjoy Thanksgiving like I should have.

Saturday night was my Christmas Choir concert, I belong to the Choral Arts Society of Utah. Our director is Sterling Poulson, a really funny guy. He's the Weatherman for Channel 2 news. It was really cool to be a part of it. After our 2nd song though, he wanted us to stay standing but half of us sat down. When we realized he wanted us to stay standing we all stood back up. (Boy did we look silly). Guess we need to practice the standing up and sitting down more often. haha! Other than that, the concert was great. I think the only people in the audience were friends and family of people in the choir and orchestra. Oh well, at least we get bigger turn outs when the concerts are free. We'll have one on April 16th, it's our spring concert. For now though, we get a break, and do not start back up with Choir until January. Hooray! I get some rest this month, I'm excited.

So, I know this is off topic, but I have a friend in Total denial. (No this isn't me). She's struggling, and can't even see it. She tells me she's happy, but for one to look into her eyes you can tell she is not. I don't know what to say to her, I feel horrible for her. She talks about the bad stuff going on in her life, and she's really down on herself. What should I say to her to help her get happy?
